The quicker you FORGIVE the happier you will LIVE

Uncategorized Feb 25, 2021

In his book Forgive for Good: A Proven Prescription for Health and Happiness, Fred Luskin writes that forgiveness is "taking back your power," "about your healing", and is "for you and not the offender".

So, what exactly is forgiveness? Forgiveness sets you free. It is defined by some as giving up my right to hurt you, for hurting me. It means I do not have to hear you say ‘I am sorry’ for me to move forward with my life. The purpose of forgiveness is to set the victim free. It has nothing to do with the offender.

Anne Lamott defines it the best in her quote - “Not forgiving is like drinking rat poison and then waiting for the rat to die.” When we do not forgive someone, it is we who suffer, as we are tied to the chains of the negative experience. By not forgiving we constantly remind ourselves about that negative experience. Isabelle Holland explains this further - “As long as you don’t forgive, who and whatever it is will occupy a...

Why most people fail to meditate?

Uncategorized Feb 18, 2021

One of the biggest myths about meditation is that you need to get rid of your thoughts. Let me do an experiment with you. I give you the next 30 seconds to close your eyes and think of a white polar bear…….

OK, you can open your eyes …….

Now this time I want you to close your eyes again and think of anything you want as long as it’s not the white polar bear. You are free to think of anything but the polar bear. OK go………

So, did you think about the polar bear at least once or maybe more times? If you are like me and many others who have done this experiment your answer would be yes. The point is our mind and thoughts behave in a way that the more you try to control it, the difficult it gets. The mind by its very nature is designed to think and therefore will continue to think. You have to let it free and just observe.

Have you noticed that you can continue to perform your daily tasks while the mind is busy...

Heal yourself and others through Compassion

Dr. Hawkins a well-known spiritual teacher and psychiatrist developed a Map of Consciousness. The map shows the vibrational energy of different emotional states. When you look at it, you could see that love has a high vibrational frequency of 500. And in order to access the states of higher consciousness, you must be in the energy frequency of love and above.

According to another research done by Richard J Davidson, compassion is a trainable skill. People who practice compassion have a more positive outlook on life and are less likely to become stressed. It was also found that people who practice self-compassion could slow the process of aging. Practicing compassion can also enhance your emotional...

Being Grateful is a Great Fuel for Happiness

"If there is one question which undoubtedly the whole human species on the planet will answer ‘YES’ to is ‘Do you want to be happy?’."

Is there a connection between this common desire of the human race and gratitude? Some may believe that if you have all you desire you will be happy and once you are happy you will also be grateful, and it seems the obvious connection. But what if I ask you to think carefully if this is true? Is it really that happy people are grateful?

We all know someone who has everything one could ask for to be happy and they still are miserable. They are constantly seeking something. At times they are not even sure what they are seeking. Then there are also people who have all the misfortune one can have but still radiate happiness. Why? It’s because they are grateful for whatever they have. It is not happiness that makes you grateful, but gratefulness that will make you happy.

Have you ever wondered why a sight of a...

Fat is not fattening (Hard to believe! I don’t blame you)

For decades we have been told fat is bad. It is no wonder as a lot of research (sponsored by big food companies) has reiterated that ‘reduce your calories to reduce your weight’. This approach may work if you starved yourselves. However, it will also deprive your body of essential nutrients and will make you feel fatigued all the time. Our body burns carbohydrates very quickly, which means if we ate a carbohydrate-rich diet, we will feel hungry more often (good for food businesses but not so good for our body). Also, if the body gets all the energy it needs from the carbohydrates we eat, it will keep storing the fat and will never go in ‘fat-burning mode’.

As most of you will be aware that many of our body’s functions are dependent on hormones. For the body to start burning fat for energy we must have lower levels of insulin. Eating carbohydrates increases the insulin levels in our...
